Established in 1664 Stafford County is filled with history from famous battlefields to one of the oldest homes located on Chapel Green Road. Yes, George Washington grew up here too! Before Stafford County became Stafford County Pocahontas, the Princess of the Powhatan Indians was kidnapped from Indian Point. In 1916 Gary Melcher, a famous artist, moved to Stafford. You can still visit his home today. Stafford County offers several golf courses, winery’s, restaurants and museums to enjoy. Riverfront beaches, marina’s, and Stafford Regional. Riverside dinner theater with famous actors such as Sally Strothers and Joyce Dewitt. Neatly tucked between Washington DC and Richmond Virginia is where you will find Stafford County Virginia.
