Established in 1664 Stafford County is filled with history from famous battlefields to one of the oldest homes located on Chapel Green Road. Yes, George Washington grew up here too! Before Stafford County became Stafford County Pocahontas, the Princess of the Powhatan Indians was kidnapped from Indian Point. In 1916 Gary Melcher, a famous artist, moved to Stafford.
